For sale is my beloved Lull M5V, my workhorse bass for the past five years about. This is their five-string variant, made in Bellevue, WA at Mike’s workshop (RIP Mike Lull!) – I’m the second owner.
Per Lull’s description, “M is for Modern, V is for Vintage” – my favorite part of this bass is how versatile its voicing is, flipping between passive and active modes to get the exact tone you’re looking for in a set. A tour-ready, player’s bass.
You can view full specs on Lull’s webpage for the M5V, but this one is has a Swamp Ash body, Maple neck, and an upgraded Birds Eye Maple fingerboard (see photos!). Bartolini active circuit AND Bartolini pickups (upgraded over Seymour Duncans that come stock). 35” scale. Noisy output jack replaced about six months ago, and added extra shielding internally. Frets all leveled and PLEK’d at Lull’s workshop like every other Lull guitar. Color is “70’s natural” if you know what I mean…
If you know about basses and Mike Lull then you know how reliable and capable these instruments are – hoping to keep this sale local to the PNW at $2500 (cash, Venmo + 1%, Cash app + 3%). Purchased ~$4400. No trades: as much as I want to see your quirky/sh*tty gear, I really need the money. Will include pictured gig bag – it’s a step up from the wimpy, floppy bags you might be used to.
Note: there’s a tiny crater in the maple on the 8th fret, above where any strings lie – no effect on playing. Same goes for a small crack in the lacquer near the heel of the neck (natural, in how guitars age with wear).
Also – this bass will get cleaned up and restrung by my tech here in Portland (Matt Wright), so you can ignore the finger marks on the runners and fret gunk. If you’d prefer me not to do that (you know who you are), do let me know.
I’m in SW Portland, but will be happy to meet up pretty much anywhere in the metro area, or up to Vancouver / down to Salem areas. Also able to meet between here and Seattle!
Text or email me. Let’s do this! 🙂
