1999 Gibson Les Paul R9 aged by RS Guitar Works. Not over done, but nicely aged. This is from the “Good Wood Era” and painted by Tom Murphy. It’s not a bright Cherry Sunburst but more of an Iced Tea color.
As you can see as with all reds that it get bright or dark depending on the light and indoors or outdoors. I believe that this color is the Heritage Cherry Sunburst. Frets are in excellent condition with no wear. Long neck tenon. Nice ’59 neck profile that’s on the fatter side. That probably adds to the big beefy sound that this guitar puts out with the factory Classic ’57 buckers. 8lbs, 7oz. Great top, color, tone and weight. The book matched flame tops on these were all hand picked as the 40th Anniversary model was the crown jewel for Gibson that year. Comes with the original first issue black Custom shop case and all case candy, case key, certificate and Historic Collection catalog, color code and Historic flyer! Every piece of literature you could get at the time is all here. This is a perfect collectors piece that has it all. Don’t miss out on this once in a lifetime collectors piece!
